More than 300 alumnae/i and parents registered from 27 different countries to join us for two distinct programs around the theme of leadership.

Watson Fellow Kass Wojcik '22 Will Travel the World in Search of Bees

The biology major and environmental studies minor will be traveling to as many as six countries on five continents to research how beekeeping and pollinator conservation is practiced around the world.

Elena Gittleman Will Have Research Funded by Pair of Fellowships

The fellowships will support the Ph.D. candidate in history of art as she completes her dissertation on the Legacies of Ancient theater in Middle Byzantine visual culture. She will spend three months conducting field and archival research in Turkey.

"Words cannot describe how excited and grateful I am for this opportunity. I have always dreamed of studying abroad, and now I am in disbelief that it will be happening this fall," writes Ava Blumer '24.

360掳 'Europe from the Margins' Group Travels to Berlin

Students and faculty in 360掳 "Europe from the Margins" spent spring break visiting Berlin to learn first hand about the topics they had been discussing in their classes.

Transnational Italian Studies Department Awarded Grant

The Ministry of Education in Rome has awarded the department a grant for its cutting-edge curricular innovation in designing courses that mirror the transformation of the discipline toward a more inclusive field and to motivate and support students through mentorship programs.

Transnational Italian Studies Hosts Understanding Primo Levi Symposium

The international symposium on one of the most widely-read post-World War II Italian writers, thinkers, and cultural influencers was held in honor of Professor Emeritus Nicholas Patruno (1941-2020), a distinguished scholar of Primo Levi's work.

  • In April, the Departments of Political Science and International Studies and the Office of Global 最新麻豆原创 hosted Professor Jenny Mathers, senior lecturer in international politics at Aberystywth University, for a campus visit. Professor Mathers gave a talk on "Women and Russia鈥檚 War in Ukraine: A Feminist Security Studies Approach." She also led an information session about the 4+1 A.B./M.A. and Exchange programs available to 最新麻豆原创 students at Aberystwyth University.
