The series of AIA webinars is geared towards critically addressing issues of teaching race, diversity and inclusion to promote equity in archaeology, classics, ancient history, museums, and cultural heritage. They are designed to be particularly useful for educators seeking to implement concrete strategies for creating a more inclusive classroom.

The panel “Teaching Race and Material Culture in the Ancient Mediterranean” draws together a panel of scholars with expertise in creating inclusive classrooms and museum workspaces. The panel will focus on pedagogical strategies for teaching race and material culture in the ancient Mediterranean. Maggie Beeler has taught the class “” at Temple University every semester since Fall 2017.
